Pressure our Representatives to pass Fair Use Commission Act of 2011

Since there is no doubt that the Protect IP Act and the Streaming felony bills will pass into law, USWGO has proposed to the House of Representatives that a new bill get proposed and sponsored, and that bill idea is titled the Fair Use Commission Act of 2011. Alternative News websites such as USWGO and FederalJack cannot function without Fair Use protections against copyright litigation abuse by copyright mills such as Righthaven LLC.

The problem with Fair Use and the copyright act is that there’s no protection of those who cannot afford to fight legal battles to protect their Fair Use Rights. Ever since the formation of Righthaven LLC Fair Use has been threatened two hundreds times more now.

USWGO has already sent faxes to the Honorable Brad Miller and Honorable Mel Watt to sponsor the bill to protect the peoples fair use rights.

These are the reasons why people must promote this page and pressure their states representatives to pass FUCA of 2011:

  1. Poor and disabled people are forced to pay court filing fees and thousands of dollars and other fees not including attorneys fees to simply fight for their Fair Use rights which they should be entitled to before even being allowed to even be sued in court.
  2. Since more and more strict copyright laws are passing the senate and becoming law, Fair Use Rights must be protected so that people can still run political, alternative news, educational, and other kinds of blogs and websites without fear of legal repercussions.
  3. There is no free way to battle the courts for your Fair Use Rights. This commission will only require affidavits and checking out your blog entries for their investigation then rules out Faie Use in cases that would normally take years under a court of civil law.

Fair Use Commission Act must pass the House of Representatives if American’s want to still maintain their rights to do documentaries without being thrown in prison or sued by the Attorney General.
