How can a country that is at peace, have no civil wars, people are always peaceful when they protest, and the rioters are almost always police being dressed up as violent anarchists to stage a riot during peaceful protests (people like Alex Jones always catch them in the act), use armored tactical vehicles.
Something you usually may only see in Baghdad or Iraq, militarized or tactical armored and weaponized vehicles during riots and wars, has now appeared in Downtown Ventura California. This does go along with the militarization of police across the country. The police don’t trust the American people anymore when they use armored vehicles with weapon firing ports in addition to their usual police cruisers.
Even when I was able to go inside several military bases with my grandpa (A veteran) none of them used armored tactical vehicles. Even the military police vehicles which I saw several were only police cruisers.
Michael Remington was the one that discovered that Ventura California police is using militarized vehicles in addition to their normal police cruisers.
So why on earth is our local police using armored vehicles instead of regular police cruisers? Do they think Americans are going to shoot them, blow them up, or something? I thought America was a peaceful country where protests are peaceful. Military is not allowed in the United States due to Posse Comitatus Act. Maybe the militarization of our police force is a way to circumvent the Posse Comitatus Act since technically and legally the police aren’t the army.
“The military vehicle was seen downtown Ventura, California, yesterday around 1:30pm. I was parked when it pulled onto the street ahead. It made a left hand turn and left. In the brief moment I managed to take one picture. What caught my eye was that the military vehicle was marked ‘Ventura Police’, Hope it goes viral!.” Mr. Remington told reporter Mr. Brian D. Hill reporter of USWGO Alternative News, FederalJack, We Are Change, and Before It’s News.
In fact later Mr. Remington got more photos of the vehicle inside and outside and sent it to Mr. Hill to send to the three alternative media outlets he works for.
In fact to view all the images check out the Photos of the Ventura CA Police armored vehicle Image Gallery brought to you by USWGO.
“Notice the large gun turret (geared); and heavy armor plating (1/2”?). They claimed it was a SWAT asset, with no mention of how they procured it through UASI.” Mr. Remington stated in an email with the photos attached that were added into the photo gallery.
Popeye from FederalJack.com, posts on We Are Change, also examined the first photo sent to me and made several comments about it. He stated “That’s what they are doing, local cops are getting armored vehicles. It is the militarization of the local cops, turning them into paramilitary.”
So the local police across the country under the guise of National Security are buying up armored tactical and weapon-capable vehicles through the UASI and will patrol the streets using these hardened vehicles. The large gun turrets means that the police can fire weapons through them at the people outside of the vehicle. UASI is abbreviated for Urban Area Security Initiative. The UASI is a county wide group that is funded by federal dollars. Their goal is to improve security against domestic and foreign terrorism. The Bearcat (the vechicle in the photos) is the 3rd in the county to be purchased by UASI funds. Ventura County Sheriff, Oxnard Police and in July Ventura PD took delivery of the vehicle.
The top section looks like a large machine gun can be mounted at the top where police can fire multiple bullets at suspects with large weapons just like in Good Ole Iraq the war zone. Either a big weapon or a sound cannon since those were used at the G20 summit in Pittsburgh.
We have yet to receive a comment from the Ventura CA police department and once we do we will write a followup story as to why they are using vehicles that are similar to American army issued vehicles in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Baghdad.
All photos taken by Michael Remington and used with his permission. Licenses have not been applied to these photos so you should contact him before deciding to add to your website.

Look at the events of August 21st in El Cajon California and you’ll see why this type of vehicle is needed. Law Enforcement responded to a man who shot and killed his daughter and mother in law, then shot a police officer and lit his house on fire. Police were able to use the vehicle to provide a shield for firefighters to use in protecting adjoing structures from the fire. I think if you had asked objectively you would have discovered that there is no grand conspriracy behind the use of these vehicles…seems like you jumped the gun and cried wolf.

Why won’t the police answer questions about this type of vehicle? Who provided the funds? Who authorized this type of vehicle? Why this much armored and militarized equipment, are you kidding me, are you people so naive that you don’t see what’s happening in you own back yard?
Why do they send in their officers into court to intimidate a defendant and witnesses while they are testifying? Raising their fist, making comments, and glaring at both the witnesses and defendant? I know this to be a fact since I was on a jury where I witnessed this behavior from the Oxnard Police. I’m a veteran, served my country and I have to be subjected to these “Jack-boot thugs”. Better wake up people; this is not an isolated incident.
Don’t believe me people, go out stand up for your rights and watch what happens. I dare you.

Ted; The whole point is that regardless of the legitimately reasonable uses these kinds of vehicles can have on US soil, the militarization of any local police force is WRONG. Period. Remember Posse Comitatus? Not to mention the fact that police (and other authorities) have a disgracful history of misusing/abusing new technology and techniques.
I can only speak for myself when I say that if the police plan on using these tanks (and similar gear) on peaceful, non-violent US citizens there will be hell to pay. For now however, the non payment of taxes should suffice….
Freedom Ends Here on Sun, 13th Nov 2011 5:17 am
Funny how militarized our police have become. You might think they expect a war with us soon! I wonder if they have thought about how they have been getting paid….maybe by our taxes?
One day after the Republic has become a distant memory and they are imprisoned by the REAL army for being a terror threat, they may see that all their efforts to control us was for naught. They caused the collapse of America by, “just doing their job.”
America was a great land, with great people who, did great things…at one time. Now, nothing but embarrassment in front of the World and God. So disappointing….
Mister Jimmy on Sun, 13th Nov 2011 6:30 am
To the OP: Dumbya put an end to the Posse Comitatus Act, so now the American people are subject to attack by US military forces whenever the neocons and ‘dual citizens’ feel the time is right. In keeping with a recent treaty, now Canadian troops may also be called in to attack American civilians if it is felt to be necessary. In looking at this vehicle, I would say the tires could probably not stand up to large-caliber bullets, and Molotov cocktail or two would make anyone inside feel most uncomfortable.

Those vehicles are military issue, and meant for only the military in war zones, not against American citizens by the ‘police’. This is an attack and disgrace against our US Constitution. Welcome to saudi arabia.

The militarization of police has been going on for decades, most notably with the purported “war on drugs.” This is nothing new.

I lived in Ventura CA. for a while before I left the country permently, Now I live in El Salvador, CA. a communist country where I have more freedom that I have ever had in the U.S. For your information the U.S. is a pacticing comunist country
and is practicing all 10 planks of comunisum only more strictly then most comunist countries do. Good luck because the U.S. government has just begun to mess with your way of life. You have no binding constitution, you have no rights, you ARE the slaves of your government! You ain’t seen nothing yet and how do you like it so far? I may live in a comunist country but you guys are screwed!!

Notice that the armored vehicle has rubber tires. If they turn them on the American people, we should be able to shoot their tires out, and then douse them with gasoline. It may come to this.
The Scarlet Pimpernel on Sun, 13th Nov 2011 2:00 pm
We have increasing police power in an era of decreasing crime. Average people and even police believe that “crime is increasing, though FBI statistics clearly indicate that crime in America is at an alltime low and continues to decrease.

So what’s the real goal, people? I don’t think it’s as clearly defined as “crush the peons”, but the effect is the same.
Police should NEVER be better-armed than the citizens. Whenever they are, you have a police state, even if there aren’t jackbooted thugs making that obvious.

“Molotov cocktails” are so named because they were used by the Fins against Soviet TANKS when Vyacheslav Molotov was the Soviet Foreign Minister.
A molotov to the front of one of these vehicles will consume the air the engine needs and stall it out. Molotovs to the sides can melt the tires, and a few more will turn the thing into a oven on wheels, if the smoke and lack of oxygen don’t choke those inside before the heat cooks them.
Sure, they look scary, but if the people are so angry that they’re needed, they’re also not terribly useful

That thing is not invulnerable. It will be disabled by high-velocity, high-bullet-weight rifle ammunition, or the ages-old weapon of fire. It’s probably made of aluminum, and the metal itself will burn if ignited by a gasoline Molotov.
When (not “if”) the police are turned en masse on the American people, you must know what to do.

Folks, it’s only a coup. There was another one called, “The Civil War and one before that called The Colonial War. The only difference in the 1776 coup (against England) and the coup ongoing today is that in the former it was to free the common person; in the latter it’s to enslave the common person and empower/enshrine the police mentality.

I witnessed these car/tanks in Aztec, NM. I could not believe it when I saw them; this is a quiet community which is largely Navajo Reservations…and oh yes, Halliburton.
I also lived in Pahrump, NV where the “police” are uniformed with maybe 4 guns, leg straps, etc. We are talking about an environment that can be blazing HOT yet they are uniformed like commandos.
These people are nuts

Disturbing.
While it is conceivable that terrorists, or more likely drug cartels, could conduct operations here, it is more likely that these wannabe special forces on the loose with inadequate training, supervision and psychological profiling may run wild.
Oath Keepers and more enlightened Tea Partiers are concerned.

and then there is Kingman, Arizona where police use suicidal two-faced lying psychopaths for their purposes, and when they get you into court illegally, it’s all over. Pay your fine and watch court personnel use your credit card numbers on blank cards for illegal purchases afterwards. A plea bargain admitting guilt to THEIR CRIMES results in a Without Prejudice adjudication wherein they can re-file charges…illegal home break-ins, acts of terrorism against outspoken citizens, it goes on and on. Yes, you have a right to resist.

ready. Another shock and awe for the American people.

I really don’t think this armored truck is for the local people during protest [at least I hope not]. We must remember we live near a target on the west coast, Pt Mugu Air Base, one of the biggest targets along the west coast. Let’s hope we never see that THING! at any type of protest rally in our beautiful coast town. They should use it during any type of gang activity, because that is a war in any town……

Hey Folks:
Liberalism is out of control…More spoiled bratz making unreasonable demands. They are seeking guarantees that the bankrupt cities, states and feds cannot meet anymore more likely because you didn’t pay back your student loan.
Welcome back to the 50′s kidz….I started out by mowing lawns, washing cars and selling magazines. You should be ashamed of yourselves for putting so much pressure on your parents who gambled by flipping houses, crazy stock market investments and by buying imported goods to fill their houses up with foreign stuff instead of “BUYING AMERICAN GOODS”.
Now, go get a job or start your own business and buy American this time around. Let the police do their job in the best way they can with you spoiled whimps…
Lest they have to use their equipment in a way they wish not to….

Military combat vehicles do not have pneumatic tires.
The tires are injected with a material that expands into a foamy solid.
If one were to shoot it, you might put a hole through the tire, but it will not deflate.
Fire though, is a different matter.
